A: Dobby weaving can produce simple geometric patterns and stripes but cannot control individual warp threads. Jacquard weaving has full individual warp thread control, enabling complex, large-scale motifs like damasks, portraits, or multi-colored logos in a single woven pass.
Q: Can jacquard ribbons be washable or waterproof?
A: Yes. We offer polyester jacquard with water-resistant finishes, as well as synthetic yarns that withstand gentle machine washing — ideal for reusable gift bags and apparel trims.
Q: What file format do you need for custom patterns?
A: Vector files (AI, EPS) are preferred for best weaving accuracy. High-resolution raster images (1200+ DPI) can also be converted by our in-house design team.
Q: Can I choose different base colors for the same pattern?
A: Absolutely. Once a pattern is approved, we can weave it on any base color yarn (e.g., ivory, black, navy) without re-doing the pattern setup — just a new dye lot is required.
Q: What widths are standard for gourmet food packaging labels?
A: 16mm and 25mm are the most common widths for jar labels and box ribbons in the gourmet food sector. 38mm is used for gift box wrap-around ribbons with an attached jacquard tag.
